How a Flow Shift forms, what every line on your chart means, and every setting explained — start to finish.
What It Is
Fluid Flow Model watches every candle for a Flow Shift — the moment price closes through the last meaningful swing high or low, flipping structure bullish or bearish. When one fires, the model checks it against similar setups earlier on the same chart, updates the FLUID FLOW panel with a bias read, and draws the full trade — entry, a three-tier profit target, and a stop-loss. It is a manual, discretionary tool: nothing places, trails, or closes a trade for you.
How a Signal Forms

A Flow Shift fires
Close breaks the last confirmed swing high (bullish) or swing low (bearish) — a candle has to close past it, so a random wick can’t fake it out.

The model checks similar setups
It compares this shift’s volume, momentum, and speed against earlier setups on the same chart — how they looked going in.

The panel updates
The FLUID FLOW panel in the corner flips to Bullish, Bearish, or Neutral for the direction the shift just broke.

The full trade draws
Entry, a three-tier TP1/TP2/TP3 box, and a structural stop-loss all draw immediately — no waiting, no filtering.
Reading the Chart
A signal draws five things at once, anchored to the close that triggered the Flow Shift:
- Labels update live — a hit level flips to “Take Profit 1 Hit” or “Stop Loss Hit” in place.
- The last 10 signals stay on the chart. Older boxes and lines clear automatically.
- The stop-loss is static once drawn — nothing trails or moves it for you.
The Side Panel
Bottom-right of the chart, a small table gives you the model’s current read at a glance:
Order Blocks
Each Flow Shift has an origin candle — the last candle of the opposite color before the break. The model boxes it, splits it into a buyer/seller volume box with the percentage split of the move, and adds a point-of-interest line. Use it as a retest zone, not a trigger — it is auto-removed the moment price closes through it.
Fair Value Gaps
A three-candle imbalance price never traded through, drawn as a fixed-length box and removed once filled. Row 1 defaults to your chart timeframe; rows 2 and 3 default to 4H and 1D for higher-timeframe confluence.
How to Trade It
This is the actual workflow, start to finish — the same four checks every time a signal fires:

Check the panel for direction
A Flow Shift fires and the FLUID FLOW panel confirms Bullish or Bearish — that’s your first read before anything else.

Look for confluence
Is there an Order Block or an unfilled Fair Value Gap near this entry — ideally on a higher timeframe too? If yes, the setup is stronger. If the signal is just floating with nothing nearby, treat it with more caution.

Respect the stop and targets as drawn
The stop is structural and already capped by ATR. The targets are already placed at your R-multiples. Don’t move either one off a feeling mid-trade.

Execute and let the R-multiples work
The model draws it, you execute it. The whole point is taking the emotional decision-making out — let TP1/TP2/TP3 play out the way they’re built to.
The whole loop, one line
Flow Shift → check the panel → check for OB/FVG confluence → respect the stop → let the targets play out.

Market Structure

Targets
Draws the TP1/TP2/TP3 box for each signal.
How far right the box and its lines extend before stopping.
Fixed R places TP1/2/3 at set reward-to-risk multiples off the stop, so a win is always sized bigger than a loss by construction. Adaptive projects targets from how far similar past setups actually ran — but can come out smaller than the stop.
Adaptive mode only. Scales how close TP1 sits. Lower = closer, faster first profit.
Fixed R mode only. Distance of each target as a multiple of the stop distance — TP3 = 3.0 means every full win is worth 3x a full-stop loss.
Shows the “Take Profit 1/2/3” text inside the box.
Updates a label to “… Hit” in place once price reaches it.
Color of the entry line and label at the signal price.

Keeps the model’s matching fair across different pairs and instruments. Leave on.
Hard cap on how far the stop can sit from entry — keeps risk sane on a messy, deep-pullback setup.

FVG Timeframes
Blank input = whatever timeframe you’re viewing.
Enable for 4-hour confluence — this is the one Franc runs alongside his entry TF.

Trade Management
This is the part the indicator deliberately leaves to you. Once a stop-loss draws, it does not move — there is no auto-breakeven, no trailing, no partial-close logic running behind the scenes.
- Size from the stop, not a fixed lot. The distance from Entry to Stop Loss is one R — risk a fixed percentage of account equity per R, every trade.
- Decide your exit style before you’re in the trade. Scale out at each target and let a runner past TP3, or treat TP3 as your single exit and use TP1/TP2 as progress markers. Either works — switching mid-trade doesn’t.
- The stop is your real max loss, not a suggestion. It’s already capped by Max Stop Distance, so widening it manually removes that protection.
- Check for Order Block or Fair Value Gap confluence near the entry before taking it. A signal sitting right on an untested OB or an unfilled higher-timeframe FVG is a stronger trade than one floating in open space.
Setting Up Alerts
- Right-click the chart → Add Alert, or open the Alerts panel and hit Create Alert.
- Condition → select Fluid Flow Model. Pick a trigger — Bullish/Bearish Flow Shift, TP1/TP2/TP3 Hit, Stop Loss Hit — or use “Any alert() function call” to catch all of them.
- Expiration → set to Open-ended so it doesn’t quietly lapse.
- Save. Glance at the chart before acting on a mobile push, same as any signal.
Re-arm after any update
TradingView treats a new version of a script as a different indicator. After an update, delete the old alert and create a fresh one against the new version — otherwise it silently stops firing.
Troubleshooting
Quick-Start Checklist
- Set Chart Background to match your actual chart theme.
- Leave Target Mode on Fixed R unless you specifically want Adaptive’s neighbor-projected targets.
- Set Max Stop Distance (ATR) to whatever ceiling you’re comfortable risking on a single trade.
- Create one alert on “Any alert() function call,” Expiration = Open-ended.
- When a Flow Shift fires: check the panel for direction, then check for Order Block / FVG confluence near the entry.
- Size every position off the Entry-to-Stop distance — that’s your 1R.
- Re-create your alert any time the indicator version changes.
